ThermaFrax: Combining Skin Tightening With Laser Resurfacing

ThermaFrax skin tightening laser resurfacing

Keeping your skin looking young and radiant for as long as possible is a common goal many of us share. With an abundant supply of products and treatments that claim to produce age-defying results, it can be challenging to determine which treatment will give you real noticeable results.

ThermaFrax is one of the newest anti-aging treatments that provide both skin tightening and skin resurfacing results. With little downtime required, it’s the ideal treatment for anyone with a busy lifestyle. Learn more about this combination treatment and how people, just like you, are achieving incredible results.

What Is ThermaFrax?

ThermaFrax combines two gold standard treatments: Thermage CPT Skin Tightening and Fraxel Skin Resurfacing. This combination combines skin tightening with laser resurfacing to produce enhanced results and tighter skin. The treatments are beautifully compatible and work synergistically to bring you results.

Both skin rejuvenation treatments are non-surgical and non-invasive and are FDA-approved.

Thermage

Thermage is a unique radiofrequency treatment used to stimulate collagen production in areas with sagging or loose skin. By stimulating your body’s collagen production, a tighter, more youthful look and feel to the skin is created from one treatment. Thermage can be successfully used on the face, eyes, or entire body with virtually no downtime.

Thermage treatments are effective on the:

Eyes – hooding, fine lines, and even our brow line can make us look worn-down. It treats the upper and lower eyelids.

Face – smooths lines and wrinkles and remodels collagen for the overall health of the skin.

Body – a non-invasive way to smooth the skin on our bodies and even temporarily improve the appearance of cellulite.

Fraxel Skin Resurfacing

The Fraxel laser system can be used to treat uneven skin pigmentation commonly associated with sun spots, melasma, and precancerous conditions like keratosis. Fraxel resurfacing treatments are most commonly performed on facial skin; however, the treatment can be used on other parts of the body prone to sun damage. Other treatment areas include the neck, chest, and hands.

Fraxel resurfacing treatments give patients the following benefits:

  • Improved skin tone and texture
  • Reduced wrinkles around the eyes
  • Removal of unwanted brown spots
  • Improved appearance of acne scars
  • Effective treatment for actinic keratosis (precancerous lesions)

Which Treatment Is Performed First?

The first part of ThermaFrax involves Thermage. During the initial step, the skin’s deepest layers will be heated to tighten existing collagen and stimulate new collagen growth. The procedure takes roughly 60-90 minutes.

The second part of the treatment is Fraxel, which uses a laser treatment to activate advanced skin rejuvenation. Topical anesthesia will be applied beforehand to ensure a more comfortable treatment session. During treatment, patients typically describe a sensation of heat, and the treatment area will be soothed with cold air during laser passes. The laser resurfacing procedure takes roughly 15-20 minutes.

Both treatments are non-invasive, with little-to-no discomfort during each procedure.

When Will I See Visible Results?

The final results from ThermaFrax treatments are not immediate. Immediately following the treatments, you will start to see gradual changes. Natural results will continue to appear over time as your body continues to produce collagen. Most people see a noticeable improvement in skin tone and texture after the first month of ThermaFrax.
