Microneedling offers similar, subtler results for patients seeking a gentle alternative to laser treatment.
Our microneedling technology is the SkinPen® – the first FDA-cleared microneedling device. This device has been clinically researched and proven to treat acne scars, and has other cosmetic applications as well. By applying specific topical medications immediately after treatment, we’ll encourage skin regeneration and cellular turnover, ultimately reducing scarring, fine lines, and uneven texture.
The SkinPen is appropriate for all skin types, offers little to no downtime, and our patients love their results.
Microneedling Can Improve:
- Fine lines or wrinkles
- Skin texture
- Scarring from acne, surgery, or injury
- Melasma or other hyperpigmentation
- Stretch marks
- Large pores
- General, subtle tightening of facial tissues
How does SkinPen microneedling work?
- Fractional micro-needling is non-ablative, and does not remove layers of skin the way laser resurfacing does.
- Instead, treatments create a pattern of micro channels that allow easy access to the dermis beneath.
- In addition to aiding the absorption of topical anti-aging medications, the channels trigger collagen and elastin production to provide thorough revitalization.
- Microneedling works so well because it enhances the body’s own healing responses. Creating tiny channels prompts the skin to replace those cells with new, healthy skin. And since the channels are so narrow, the healing process takes very little time.
- The skin stays intact while the micro-channels stimulate cell turnover and removal of scar tissue – and the results speak for themselves.
Ninety percent of SkinPen patients in clinical trials would recommend the procedure.

Microneedling Aftercare
One of the most compelling factors behind microneedling is its lack of downtime.
- There may be a pink or red tinge to the skin in the first 24 hours after treatment, with a feeling like a sunburn, and the skin may feel tight or sensitive to the touch.
- This fades quickly, within just a few hours of your appointment.
- After 24 hours, the skin will be looking normal or nearly normal, and few patients see any side effects by 3 days after treatment. All they need to do is go about their daily lives and wait for gradual results to take hold.
- Unlike with light-based treatments, sun avoidance is not necessary after microneedling (although we always recommend sun protection to prevent skin damage).
