Is PRP Hair Treatment A Permanent Solution?

We all lose a lot more hair throughout the day than we might think; 50-100 hairs per day to be exact. But some of us struggle with hair loss more than others, especially if your hair isn’t growing back at the same rate at which it’s falling out, leaving you with a thinning hairline.

The good news is, for anyone experiencing thinning hair, a new hair loss treatment called Platelet-Rich Plasma Treatment, or PRP, can help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles and promote new hair growth.

The PRP Process

Our blood is made up of two main components, red blood cells, and plasma. The plasma found in your blood contains white blood cells and platelets, which are rich in growth factors. These same growth factors play the role of messengers which signal skin cells to function properly, and can also help stimulate the activity of the hair follicles, promoting new hair growth in a natural way.

Radiance Medspa uses a precise process for PRP hair loss treatments. During treatment you can expect:

A blood draw. Your treatment begins with a simple blood draw from your arm.

Separating Plasma. Next, the blood from the tube is placed into a machine called a centrifuge, which spins the blood tube to separate out the red blood cells from the plasma.

Scalp Injections. The plasma is naturally rich in platelets, which is then injected directly into the scalp at the level of the hair follicles.

The procedure typically takes less than a half hour, and Injections will be placed approximately half an inch apart over the area the patient is experiencing thinning hair.

Is PRP Painful?

While the process seems intricate in writing, the PRP treatment process is minimally invasive and most patients are able to get injections without the use of any anesthesia or numbing because there is minimal discomfort involved. There is no downtime required for the procedure, and in the event that you do experience any discomfort, a simple OTC pain reliever will relieve any sensitivity you may experience post-procedure.

What Kind of Results Can I Expect From PRP Treatments?

Anticipated results can first be seen within two to three months during PRP treatment. The first result that patients can expect to see is a noticeable decrease in hair shedding, followed by early regrowth and an increase in the length of your hair.

How Often Are Treatments recommended?

To achieve the best possible results, we recommend patients have treatments performed once a month for the first three to four months, and then every three to six months thereafter. Depending on the patient’s response rate and results, we will make modifications to the treatment plan so you are satisfied with the results you deserve.

Nothing To Lose And Everything To Gain

The PRP hair treatment will work for anyone experiencing hair loss, but it is especially effective for those with early hair loss as the treatment responds the quickest to these patients. If hair loss is affecting your scalp, we can help! With no surgery or downtime, Radiance Medspa is able to stimulate fresh growth in dormant hair follicles, and in the months after treatment, your own natural hair will begin to gradually return.
